Divisions 7 & 8 are submitting their collaborative art work to the Burnaby Art Gallery as part of an Arts Alive Art Show. Please read the artists’ statement below:
Artists’ Statement: We want you to know that we’ve been spending a lot of time learning from the outdoors this year. We learned that we are connected to the land. We also learned that animals, plants and the water are connected too. We love spending time in nature and going on our forest walks. We understand that before Canada became a country, the land was the home to Indigenous people. Our painting is a ‘thank you’ to the Coast Salish Nations of Musqueam, Tsleil-waututh and Squamish on whose traditional territories we live, learn and play.
